The suspicion you feel—changes in passwords, late nights, gone all weekend, lengthy phone calls, and significant shifts in your spouse's, boyfriend's, girlfriend's, or partner's behavior—can be deeply troubling. The suspicion you feel—changes in passwords, late nights, gone all weekend, lengthy phone calls, and significant shifts in your spouse's, boyfriend's, girlfriend's, or partner's behavior—can be deeply troubling. Discovering the truth can make all the difference; it might bring a relationship to an end or allow you to put your doubts to rest. By hiring a private investigator, I can do my best to determine whether your concerns are valid or if there is no evidence to support them.
Protecting your love and your heart, which you have put on the line for this relationship, can quickly become challenging when you begin to have questions. As a private investigator, I can observe an individual to see whom they meet and where they meet up. However, it is important to understand that someone who is cheating is usually very cautious at first. Knowing what someone tends to do—and recognizing that even a single mistake while cheating can make all the difference in me catching them or confirming they aren't with that person—can be key to uncovering the truth.
If you suspect that an individual who works/ed for you is misrepresenting the facts about an injury claim, faking or exaggerating an injury, and possibly applying for or collecting benefits while not entitled? Believe it or not, these types of fraudulent claims amount to billions of dollars per year, costing liability insurance consumer
If you suspect that an individual who works/ed for you is misrepresenting the facts about an injury claim, faking or exaggerating an injury, and possibly applying for or collecting benefits while not entitled? Believe it or not, these types of fraudulent claims amount to billions of dollars per year, costing liability insurance consumers dearly.
Individuals who commit these crimes—and fraud is a crime—can face severe penalties and incarceration in certain circumstances. Those committing fraud are often very cautious in their movements, but it only takes one mistake, and that's where I come in. Video and photo evidence can help confirm your suspicions.
Where I’m Different
There are companies in this area that are so busy that they are subcontracting their case work out—and many of these companies don’t even reside here. They are based in other states and attempt to manage subcontracted investigators from afar. What this means for you is that your case may start with one investigator and then be passed to another, and not all of the unwritten knowledge about your case may be conveyed. In some situations, very important information can be lost altogether. This is especially common in firms with high turnover, where investigators may leave for better‑paying opportunities within another company.
What makes my services different is simple: I am the investigator who works your case from start to finish. A professional investigator pays close attention to body language, subtle cues, and client requests—much of which is stored mentally and cannot be transferred easily from one investigator to another. You may request that certain things be done—or not done—and those details can be lost when a case is handed off. Written and verbal information may also be recorded in a way that only the original investigator can fully interpret, which means accuracy can suffer when cases change hands.
Bottom line: I will be the only investigator on your case.

Historically, after 7 PM on a business day and on weekends has been the best time to catch someone cheating. The reason these times are preferred is that the excuses are more believable—such as traffic delays, working late, or having to work on the weekend. These explanations are harder to verify because no one is typically present after business hours, traffic conditions can change due to accidents, and on weekends there is usually no one in the office to confirm the story that they were there
(Almost the same as above) Historically, after 6 PM on a business day and on weekends has been the best time to catch someone relaxing their guard when faking an injury. These times are preferred because most government agencies are closed, most employers have gone home for the day, and they typically don’t want to spend their personal time watching someone. The employee, having played the part all day, usually wants to act normally once they’re off the clock or they think no is watching them.
Depending on the holiday and hours of each day that are needed the rates can fluctuate dramatically.
Packages may range from $1,200 to $6,500 + for 10–30 hours of surveillance. These types of packages are customized to fit your specific investigative needs. In many cases, using an hourly rate is the more economical option.
An upfront fee (retainer) of $500 is required for shorter duration cases, while $1,200–$6,500+ is often required for longer duration cases. The hours worked on your case are billed against the retainer. Once the retainer is exhausted, if the case continues, a new retainer will be required.
In the state of Oregon, it is illegal for a private investigator to wiretap, trespass, or intercept private communications without written permission from the parties involved. Whether we are part of the conversation or not, anyone who is being audio‑recorded must give their consent, and this consent is always obtained in writing.
The best way to reach me by phone is with a brief text message. I can often respond to texts even when I’m in the middle of a case if a quick moment is available. However, I do not answer phone calls while actively working on a case. When I step away and have a moment, I will return your call. Every client receives my full attention while I’m working their case, and you will receive that same level of respect and focus while I'm working on yours.

For initial contact, email is preferred or text message is fine as well. So, we both have a clear record of our communication.
Please include a brief explanation of the services you are seeking. If your case is outside my area, I may refer you to an investigator who can better assist you. I look forward to speaking with you about your investigative needs. I typically respond to emails within 48 hours, and text messages are usually answered the same day. Robert Sharkey, PI
